Kodi is a Tamil political thriller movie shot on a rural backdrop where Dhanush plays dual roles while Trisha will be seen on-screen as his pair with negative shades. Her struggle with Dhanush with political ambition adds the movie’s narration. Dhanush’s dual role makes the major highlight in the film!

This Story is about the Politics in a village for Power Plant Factory. Karunas the father of dual son Dhanush (Kodi and Anbu) who wants to become a powerful politician, but due to his incapability he failed in Politics to stop power plant factory build. He burns himself to stop it.

Kodi, elder son has interest in politics and joins, whereas Anbu in Teaching Profession. Kodi is in love with Rudhra (Trisha) powerful politician of opposite team and Anbu fall in love with Malathy (Anupama Parameswaran) the Egg Vendor.

At one point, both Kodi and Anbu came to know that, the power plan factory is running with the help of ruling party where kodi works. Whether Kodi won against all odds to stop the factory and what happens to their love life forms the rest of the story.

Technicalities & Performances:

What works the best in this film are the performance of the national award winning hero, Dhanush since it is his first double action role as Twin brothers as well as his powerful dialogues worked well. However Trisha’s expressions and the dialogues mouthed by dubbing artist were little bit out of lip sync. The role of S.A. Chandrasekhar did not drag much attention and seems to be a bad choice.

Though the first half is little slow, the director captures the essential factor in the second half! The cinematography and editing might have been better and few scenes were poorly written at some parts.

For the first time, Dhanush colabrated with Santhosh Narayanan and “Ei Suzhali” song has attracted the viewers instantly.

Overall Review:

It’s a come-back movie for Dhanush after Thodari loss, Trisha played an awesome villanism character. On the whole, Kodi is a political thriller movie with a Social Message.

One time watchable for a decent political experience!
